Mamba was founded in Lavello in 2017 by Salvatore Ruggieri. At the time, Salvatore had spent four years running performance marketing for a network of southern Italian hospitality and food brands — watching, repeatedly, as generalist agencies charged retainer fees while delivering nothing that could be traced to actual revenue.
The agency was built on two constraints: we only serve the digital marketing disciplines we have genuine expertise in, and every piece of work goes through a specialist rather than an account manager. Those constraints have held since day one.
Based in Basilicata, we have developed a particular depth in the Italian digital market — Italian search behaviour, the specific quirks of the Italian advertising ecosystem, the regulatory environment for Italian businesses, and the regional differences between audiences in the north and south of the country. We also work internationally across the EU, primarily with Italian brands expanding into Germany, France, and Spain.

We are based in Lavello in the Vulture-Melfese area of Basilicata — one of the least-known and most genuinely beautiful parts of southern Italy. We work remotely with clients across Italy and Europe.
